Police work at its finest, both patrol officers and the Detective squad of the 110th Precinct arrested a violent criminal. Perpetrator (Mark Albano) was arrested and charged with a homicide and many counts of felony assaults. The perpetrator stabbed his first victim to death on April 23rd in the Grand Avenue subway station. Again, a week later he stabbed a 31 yr old victim, and most recently stabbed and paralyzed another male after getting into an argument with him at an underground gambling den. The last stabbing led the Officers on a dangerous foot pursuit down Grand Avenue and crossing over Queens Blvd before placing him under arrest. The detective squad was later able to interview him, review video, and charge him with the other stabbings. Respectfully, David S. Saponieri Detective New York City Police Department 110th Precinct Community Affairs We had two recent incidents. One incident occurred in Middle Village and the other was in Elmhurst.
COMET received an email from someone with a post attached. The woman who wrote the post stated on two occasions while walking around Juniper Park at 6:00 am an SUV with a male driving slowly asked her to get in his car. She thought the first incident was an isolated one, but it happened again the next morning. She posted the incident to warn folks but didn't notify the 104th Precinct because she probably thought nothing actually happened. When COMET received the information we immediately sent it to DI Hall. He promised to have officers in the area during the time the two incidents occurred. Here is DI Hall's response: "Our midnight officers were in the park last night and spotted the vehicle in question. The car made a quick U-turn to evade the cops. They were able to pull him over, and when they ran his license, it was found to be revoked. The vehicle was also unregistered and uninsured. The male/Hispanic/late 20s was arrested and the car will be taken to determine true ownership. Our detectives will be speaking to him to try get more information out of him. " Deputy Inspector Louron Hall | FBINA 272 Commanding Officer | 104 Precinct The Elmhurst incident occurred this past Friday, May 7th at about 7:30 pm. An Asian female was on Queens Boulevard crossing from the bank heading to Target. As she was crossing, a male body slammed her trying to knock her down. No words were spoken. She was able to keep her balance by grabbing onto a baby carriage without tipping it over. She didn't call the 110th Precinct because of limited English and the fact that she didn't get a good look at the man who assaulted her. One of our community activist Asians spotted the post and was able to find out who she was and contacted her. She met with the victim near Target, called 911 and a report was taken.
