6/30/2022

Mark your calendar!

To increase our in-person outreach related to the Queens Bus Network Redesign, our team will be deploying out alongside our mobile van teams over the summer to speak with Queens Bus riders.
On Tuesday, July 26th,  we will be in Maspeth at Grand Ave & 69 Street from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM where we will be speaking to customers. This is a regularly scheduled mobile van visit for the area.
Once we have a confirmed date for our outdoor in person event later this summer we will share but wanted to put this date on your radar and we look forward to continuing to speak with your constituents and Queens riders throughout the summer months.

Good afternoon,

Loud music last night

6/12/2022

COMET's Vice President Mike Fordunski reached out to let me know about posts on social media regarding the loud music last night in the vicinity of O'Neill's on the Maspeth Plateau at approximately 2:45 am this morning and that the 311 call(s) was closed and no action taken.

I reached out to both the 104th and 108th Precincts and got the following responses:

104th Precinct NCO Sgt. Mercurio responded that the music was coming from Mt. Zion Cemetery in the confines of the 108th Precinct.

108th Precinct Community Affairs Det. Diaz stated: "Hey Roe. We did not get any complaints on our side. Please advise your Cometeers, that in the future if it’s on the border to make sure they articulate that when speaking with 311. They should also follow up the call with a call to the precinct directly so they could explain exactly what’s happening."

I understand that it can be hard to determine where the noise is coming from especially when it's on the border and our precincts understand it too. Last summer they worked as a team to address the problem. Please take Det. Diaz' advice and call 311 and follow up with a call to the precincts.

Let's work as a team to make this an enjoyable and relaxing summer.
