Issues

The main issues that COMET is currently addressing are:


  • A plan by the City of New York to construct an MTA vehicle depot on 49th Street in West Maspeth
  • Commuter vans operating illegally throughout Maspeth, WInfield and Elmhurst
  • The proposed and approved Maspeth High School to be built on a contaminated site at 74th Street and 57th Avenue
  • A new park at the site of what formerly was St. Saviour's Church in West Maspeth
  • Graffiti and other quality-of-life issues
