The main issues that COMET is currently addressing are:

A plan by the City of New York to house the homeless in a former convent at 86-18 58th Avenue in Elmhurst
Commuter vans operating illegally throughout Maspeth, WInfield and Elmhurst
The proposed and approved Maspeth High School to be built on a contaminated site at 74th Street and 57th Avenue
A new park at the site of what formerly was St. Saviour's Church in West Maspeth
Graffiti and other quality-of-life issues
