We were just informed that FDNY struck a deal with the Dept. of Education to allow them to construct a temporary firehouse on Newtown Field for responders stationed at the firehouse on Grand Avenue and Seabury Street. They are scheduled to move there in the fall. As many of you know, the firehouse had serious structural damage when a developer was working on an adjacent site.
Det. David Saponieri, 110th Precinct Community Affairs, advised us that they have been working so diligently to address concerns about scooters, mopeds, etc. their garage is now full of them.
Great job by our officers! Keep up the good work! From MTA:
To increase our in-person outreach related to the Queens Bus Network Redesign, our team will be deploying out alongside our mobile van teams over the summer to speak with Queens Bus riders. On Tuesday, July 26th, we will be in Maspeth at Grand Ave & 69 Street from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM where we will be speaking to customers. This is a regularly scheduled mobile van visit for the area. Good afternoon,
The 104th Precinct would like to make you aware of an incident that took place earlier this morning. At approximately 1:00 am, police responded to calls for a home invasion in the vicinity of Doran Avenue and 89th Street. Upon arrival officers encountered a female victim standing in the street, handcuffed. Two male perpetrators forcibly entered the victims residence claiming to be the police while displaying a firearm. The perpetrators then removed a large amount of cash, before fleeing the location in a black Ford Mustang and dark colored Nissan crossover model. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crime. This incident is currently being investigated by the NYPD Police Impersonation Squad.
