Hi All,

This is the second incident in Elmhurst, close to the Woodside/Maspeth border. We all need to be alert - he could strike anywhere!!

If you see someone suspicious, call 911 immediately. You will not get in trouble if you are mistaken but you just may help get a predator off the street.

If you know someone who as been a victim, please encourage them to file a police report.

Maspeth bicycle thefts

6/23/2015

FYI from Captain Mackie, 104th Precinct.
*This can happen anywhere!!!*

 Roe,

There have been six bicycles stolen from Cometland (104 Precinct) since 5/18, from five different locations.*  In at least 4 of these instances,* *the bicycles were unattended and not secured/chained to prevent theft.*

5/18:    Black/Red Pure Fix bike, front of 69-00 block of Grand Avenue (daytime)

5/24:    Black Pure Fix bike, front of 53-00 63 St (midnight)

5/24:    Blue Trek bike, rear of 53-00 63 St (morning, unsecured in a backyard)

5/25:    Black bike and Red bike, rear of 52-00 72 St (midday, 1 unsecured from backyard and 1 unsecured from common hallway)

5/27:    Best Choice white bike, front of 53-00 72 St (overnight, unsecured in front yard)

Please pass along to the neighborhood that there are two sure fire ways to prevent bicycle theft: keep it out of sight (take it inside your home if you can), or if that is not an option, secure it with a heavy duty chain in a location that is not accessible to others.

Thanks and be safe.

Capt. Mac

Prostitution arrests in Elmhurst

6/23/2015

Hi All,

During the past few weeks we provided our precincts with locations of massage parlors in our area that some believed were doing more than "massages". These locations were passed on to Queens Vice.

We told you about arrests at Maspeth locations previously. DI Manson, 110th Precinct, just called to give us an update about locations in Elmhurst that were recently visited by Queens Vice.
  • 85-30 Grand Avenue - 2 arrests
  • 85-10 Queens Blvd - 2 arrests
  • 87-03 Grand Avenue - 2 arrests
  • 87-05 Grand Avenue - 2 arrests
  • 85-12 Queens Boulevard - 1 arrest
The NYPD will now go forward and try to close 85-30 Grand Avenue and 85-10 Queens Boulevard for "Nuisance Abatement".

If you know of any other locations that appear to be suspicious, please let us know.

Great job by NYPD!!!
