Hi All,
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
A Woodside resident called to report that she just returned home and found a message on her answering machine from the "IRS" at 875-993-8344. When she played message the caller told her to call 206-855-5825. She said she'll call 104th Precinct to file a report and will also report the incident on the link below. Please, if someone targets you, call and report the incident. The scammers may use different phone numbers. Save these links in case you need them in the future!!

See update from PO Saponieri, 110th Precinct Community Affairs. Club Hive is located across Queens Boulevard from the Pan Am homeless shelter.

Officer Saponieri here 110 pct Community Affairs informing you all of the closure of club Hive last night 11/6/2014, in regards to the triple shooting on Halloween morning. The club was closed though our civil Enforcement unit and will still be working with the State Liquor Authority.

NEW SPEED LIMIT 25 MPH BEGINS TODAY!

The new speed limit in New York City is 25 MPH , unless otherwise posted went into effect this morning. This new law has been enacted to reduce traffic related accidents which can result in injuries and even death.

Please take note and drive safely.

Community Alert! New Phone Scam

The 104 Precinct received a complaint from a victim who stated she received a call from an individual who claimed they worked for Publishers Clearing House and that complainant had won 2.7 million dollars in cash.

The perpetrator (who was a female) then called multiple times a day asking for monies to be sent to different locations via a Money Pak card. The victim sent the money to this perpetrator and never received any monies in return.

The Holidays are fast approaching and the criminals are thinking of new ways to have you part with your money via phone scams. Just a couple of tips to assist if you receive an unsolicited call:

Get the callers name, hang up and call back the company with a customer service number you obtain (never use the number that they provide).

IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.... IT PROBABLY IS!

Community Alert: Attempted robbery - Maspeth

Hi All,

Captain Manson, 104th Precinct, called to let us know that the bodega on the corner of Grand Avenue/71st Street was held up at gunpoint this morning at approximately 6:00 am.

A male white wearing a mask entered the store, displayed a gun and asked for money. The employee in the store didn't have any money to give him because the store had just opened. The perpetrator fled.

If anyone has any information, please contact the 104th Precinct Squad.
