I hope all is well. Our BUILD THE BLOCK NEIGHBORHOOD POLICING AND SAFETY meeting is coming up and we would like to invite everyone to join us. It will be held on TUESDAY, MAY 21, 2019, at 6:30 PM (doors open at 6:00 PM), located at THE CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION. For those that have not attended our previous meetings, we will be discussing quality of life, crimes, and other issues concerning the area in the 110th Precinct, within Sector A (bordering Roosevelt Avenue, Britton Avenue, Broadway, Queens Boulevard, the New York Connecting Railroad Lines, and the LIE). If you have certain complaints you would like to share with us, this would be a great platform to bring it to our attention and we can collaborate together on how to resolve it. Even if you live, work, or own property outside of Sector A, everyone is welcome. These meetings are meant to cultivate and improve relations between the NYPD and the community on a more personal level. Attached is our flyer with the relevant information. We hope to see everyone there! Take care, be safe, and stay vigilant. Sincerely, POLICE OFFICER DON LEE NEW YORK POLICE DEPARTMENT 110 PRECINCT, NEIGHBORHOOD COORDINATION OFFICER Please see the attached flier regarding NCO community meeting at St. Stan's on Monday.

Roe Daraio, President COMET Civic Association www.cometcivic.com Hi All,
One of our Block Captains called to let us know that the Grand Spa at 58-94 Grand Avenue was closed last night by the NYPD. This location has been a concern and has been reported in the past. Glad to see action was taken! If you know of any suspicious locations, don't hesitate to call 311. Roe Daraio, President COMET Civic Association www.cometcivic.com Hi All,
Our COMET meeting will be held on Monday, May 13th, in St. Adalbert's Parish Center, lower level, 7:00 pm. St. Adalbert has an event on Monday, May 5th and that's why our meeting date was changed. Roe Daraio, President COMET Civic Association www.cometcivic.com Hi All,
Some of you have been asking when the 70th Street sewer construction will begin. Initially it was slated to begin in March. I reached out to Assemblyman Barnwell's office and was told the project will most likely not begin until the fall and it is not known when a meeting date will be scheduled. On the bright side, we won't have the construction noise and dust blowing around during the warm weather when our windows are open. Some of the streets affected will be Calamus Avenue between 69th and 70th Streets, 70th Street between Calamus and 54th Avenues, 71st Street between 54th and Grand Avenues, and Grand Avenue from 71st Street to, and including, Mazeau Street. Q47 bus riders are concerned they may lose the bus service again on Calamus Avenue and this is one of the issues we will bring up when the meeting is held. Bus service and parking seem to be the biggest priorities for most folks. Parking will surely be impacted if the contractor stores equipment on our residential streets. We will continue to follow up on this important issue and keep you updated. Roe Daraio, President COMET Civic Association www.cometcivic.com |
