Hi All,
Someone sent me a post about two incidents that occurred in Elmhurst this week. I called Captain Ventre, 110th Precinct Commander, and he confirmed that two reports were taken. This past Tuesday at 6:20 pm, a witness spotted two males, approximately 15/16 years of age wearing red hoodies and bandannas, chasing another youth in the vicinity of Queens Boulevard and 56th Avenue. Allegedly they beat the victim badly. The 110th responded to 55th Avenue/Van Horn where a report was taken. We assume this is the incident the witness observed on Queens Boulevard. Yesterday at about 5:30 pm at Van Horn/57th Avenue another youth was beaten by these males. The 110th Precinct took a report and an ambulance was called for the victim. The witness states that these youth have been spotted between Grand and 57th Avenues. Captain Ventre stated that he will advise his officers to give extra attention to our area. In the meantime, please be on the lookout and if you see any suspicious behavior call 911 immediately. Please alert your children and ask them to be aware of their surroundings and go to a safe place, such as a business, if they think they are being followed. If you or your child is or was a victim of these assaults, it is important that you call and have a report taken. If the police don't know these incidents are happening, these perpetrators will not get caught. Roe Daraio, President COMET Civic Association www.cometcivic.com Hi All,
Captain Ventre, 110th Precinct, wants folks to know that White Castle has scheduled a concert for Sunday, October 15th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A very large crowd is expected. It's likely that this area will experience more foot and vehicular traffic than usual. For those of you who live near White Castle, you will most likely hear the music.
