Community Alert! Rim & Tire Thefts

NOTE: These crimes affect ALL of our precincts. Now that many businesses are closed, they have become a target for burglars. Be alert at all times!

Good Afternoon,

We have seen an increase in theft of rims and tires along with burglaries in the area during the midnight hours between 01:00 am and 05:00 am. Please report anything suspicious to 911 . Attached are some tips that can be utilized to help prevent these crimes.

Incident in the 104th Precinct

Good evening,

Earlier this evening, March 27th, at approximately 8:00 pm, two males walked into CityMD, 74-25 Grand Avenue,  Maspeth, seeking medical attention.  Both males were suffering from gunshot wounds. One male appeared to be struck in the arm and the other in the leg, both males are not likely to die and are in stable condition. 


Right now it is unknown where the shooting took place or the cause.  Both males are uncooperative with police at this time.  

The 104 Precinct Detective Squad is currently investigating the incident at this time.  If anyone has information on this matter please call the 104 Precinct at 718-386-3004.  As always we will keep you updated in regards.

Crime updates for all 3 precincts

See below for the 28-day period crime statistics for 108 Precinct Sector "David".

Murder - 0

Rape - 0

Robbery - 3 total with (4) arrests made on 1.

**46 Street/Queens Boulevard gunpoint robbery of Pay-O-Matic with currency taken, no injuries to the victim. Fits criteria for a pattern within Queens North.

Felony Assault - 1 total.
**Domestic violence case where the perpetrator is known to the victim and will be arrested.

Burglary - 2 total.
**1 Window entry residential  - 1 commercial establishment.

Grand Larceny - 6 total with an arrest made on 1
**2 wheel/tire thefts in the vicinity of 61 Street and 51 Avenue overnight.

Grand Larceny Auto - 3 total.
**2 motorcycles/mopeds stolen from the vicinity of 69 Street and Calamus Avenue.

Other active patterns to be aware of:
1-2 males in Nissan Murano who commit burglaries targeting tools.
Perpetrator enters commercial locations through glass front door and removes property along 69 Street.

In the confines of Middle Village, we continue to have vehicle break ins where cars are left unlocked. In addition, 2 vehicles last week had rims and tires removed.  

As from our previous conversation, an elderly was assaulted and arrest was made in regards.

The following is the crime statistics for the past 28 day period so you can advise your community members:

Rape: 1; 1 arrest in regards (known perpetrator).
Robbery: 7; 3 arrests in regards.
  • There were 2 robberies recently in the area of 72 Street to 76 Street, from 41 Avenue to 45 Avenue. In both incidents, one male perpetrator assaults a male, elderly victim, while victim is walking on the sidewalk, between the hours of 0200 to 0400. One victim suffered serious head injuries as he fell down 5 steps and struck his head on the sidewalk during the attack. The other victim was brutally punched multiple times while he was walking past the perpetrator.
Felony Assault: 8; 2 arrests in regards.
Burglary: 2
  • Commercial Burglary Pattern along Grand Avenue at 85 Street and Queens Boulevard at Vanloon Street. Perpetrator(s) forcibly entered through the front door and removed currency and power tools on Grand Avenue (Two units were burglarized).  Perpetrator(s) entered through the metal grate leading to the basement of the establishment and removed currency on Queens Boulevard.
Grand Larceny: 10
Grand Larceny Auto: 3; 1 arrest in regards.
