Hi All,
See the attached notification regarding the lane closures on the Metropolitan Avenue bridge. Roe Daraio, President COMET Civic Association www.cometcivic.com Hi All,
See the attached list of shredding events that was just forwarded to us by the office of Assemblyman DenDekker. The Assemblyman wants to remind folks about the paper shredding event in our area at PS 229 on Sunday, June 24th. Roe Daraio, President COMET Civic Association www.cometcivic.com Hi All,
I don't know about you but I'm constantly finding fliers in my door, getting fliers in the mail, phone calls and sometimes real estate people ringing my doorbell asking if I'm interested in selling my home. After a while it becomes very annoying. For many years, Maspeth, Middle Village, Woodside, Elmhurst and other communities were granted a Cease & Desist Order issued by the NYS Department of State. The Cease & Desist Order basically stopped real estate agents from reaching out to the property owner but it didn't prevent the property owner from going to the real estate agency of their choice when they were ready to sell their home. The State Secretary of State rescinded this order because it was believed these types of solicitations were no longer a problem. Over time, the solicitations once again increased in our area. I reached out to Assemblyman Brian Barnwell and asked if he could look into whether or not he could have the Cease & Desist Order reinstated. He said he would look into getting it for his entire assembly district. The State Secretary's office wants his constituents to fill out the attached questionnaire. Also attached is a brochure that better explains a Cease & Desist Order. We need a lot of folks to fill out this questionnaire if we want the Cease & Desist Order reinstated. You can download the attached form and either mail it to Assemblyman Barnwell's office or drop it off at the office. You can also scan it over to the office. Mail it or drop it to the office: 55-19 69th Street, Maspeth, NY 11378, or Scan the form and send it to: [email protected] Questions call the Assemblyman's office: 718-651-3185 Roe Daraio, President COMET Civic Association www.cometcivic.com Hi All,
