3/30/2015

Hi All,

DI Manson, 110th Precinct, wants to let us know a shooting occurred at 5:00 am this morning on Hoffman Drive at Woodhaven Boulevard.

The businessman, who was on his way home, was apparently targeted for a robbery. He was followed by a male black in an SUV who pulled up and ordered him out of his car. The victim did not comply and drove off at which time the perpetrator shot him in the forearm. The victim drove himself to Jamaica Hospital.

DI Manson said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should call the 110th Precinct at 718-784-5421 and speak with a detective.

Jay Ave police impersonation/home invasion

3/25/2015

Hi All,

Captain Mackie, 104th Precinct Executive Officer, passed along the following information regarding an incident that occurred today in Maspeth.

Very important - NO ONE can come into your home without a warrant. NO ONE. If someone from the "police" say they have to enter, call 911 and a sector car will be dispatched to see if these individuals are legitimate.

Today on the 66-00 block of Jay Avenue, there was a Home Invasion Robbery involving Police Impersonation at 1320 hours.  Two (2) dark skinned male blacks (both wearing blue waist length jackets with "Police" written on the shoulders and wearing blue slacks) displaying 2 silver handguns did force their way into the front door and went into the basement apartment and proceeded to the rear bedroom, where they ransacked the room for some time and then left through the front door on foot in an unknown direction of flight.  It is unknown if any items were taken at this time.  This was reported at 1350 hours to 911 by the basement occupant (elderly female, who was uninjured).  There are cameras in the vicinity and detectives from the Police Impersonation Investigation Unit are investigating.

Burglary and ID theft reported

3/23/2015

Hi All,

Captain Wachter, 104th Precinct, wants to alert folks that a burglary occurred on Friday, 3/20 at 54 #s on 68th Street in Maspeth. Entry was made through the rear window sometime between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm. A drill and remote car was stolen. The Asian homeowners were not home at the time of the incident.

Captain Wachter also said the 104th Precinct received a report from someone in our area who had their credit card account compromised.

I'm attaching a copy of our identity theft flier. Please print it out and put with your important papers. If you become a victim, you will know what steps to take immediately.

Now that the snow has melted, burglars will have an easier time getting to the rear of homes where they won't be seen. Please keep a lookout and call 911 if you see anyone suspicious.

Massage parlor arrests in Maspeth

3/6/2015

Hi All,

Despite the snow, we were pleased to hear that the NYPD has been busy in Maspeth/Woodside.

Captain Gregory Mackie, Executive Officer at the 104th Precinct, told us that their Vice Enforcement Division conducted undercover operations last night resulting in 6 prostitution arrests in the Maspeth section of "Cometland". There was one arrest at 66-47 Grand Avenue, three arrests at 66-49 Grand Avenue and two arrests at 65-50 Grand Avenue. All arrests were females from massage parlors.

Concerned residents, who thought something more than massages were going on, passed this information on to us we and gave it to the 104th Precinct for referral to Vice Enforcement. We want to thank those who took the time to report these locations and encourage those of you who see something to say something. If you want to remain anonymous, pass the information on to us and we'll report it.

For those of you dealing with the illegal parking of trucks near Mazeau Street, you'll be pleased to hear that the Ciprianis truck that was sitting there for several days has been summonsed. Action was taken because someone reported it.

Lastly, the 104th Precinct is continuing to monitor the illegal school bus parking around PS 229 in Woodside. These buses take away valuable parking for residents. Captain Mackie said the 104th will continue to monitor the situation and issue summonses when warranted. Enforcement has been ongoing because residents reported the problem.

Reminders
