Saturday 10/31/2020 approximately 8:30 pm we received a 911 call for shots fired and male robbed. Officers were met by a male who stated, through a translator, that he was robbed at gun point by two Male Hispanics, who fled the location in a black Infiniti G37. The male stated that upon exiting 79-01 Queens Blvd, two males, who he described as, Male/Hispanic 5'5, heavy set, wearing all black with a black mask, and a Male/Hispanic 6'1, thin, wearing all black approached him and began to go into his pockets where $2,400 USC was removed. During the commission of the robbery, a silver and black firearm was produced and fired one round in the air. The perpetrators then entered their vehicle and fled northbound on Barnwell Avenue. A 38. caliber shell casing was recovered on the scene.
Sunday 11/1/2020 approximately 1:30 am on the corner of 81 Street and Broadway a male was shot once in the chest while he was in the back of a TLC black cab, by unknown male perpetrators The details are as follows, Officers were flagged down by a black TLC cab driver who stated he was travelling northbound on Broadway and when approaching the red light on 81st and Broadway, two unknown males riding an e-bike did ride up to the driver’s side of the vehicle where the rear passenger on the e-bike did proceed to fire six rounds into the vehicle towards the passenger who was seated on the driver’s side rear of the vehicle, and fled eastbound on 81st Street in unknown direction. The victim had a gunshot wound to the left side of the chest. Victim was immediately removed to Elmhurst General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:51 am.
