At approximately 5:38 pm, police responded to a motor cycle accident in the vicinity of Cooper Avenue and Irving Avenue. A preliminary investigation shows that the motorist of the motorcycle was traveling Westbound on Cooper Avenue at a high rate of speed when he lost control and fell off the motorcycle resulting in serious injuries. The motorist was removed to Wyckoff Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. This incident is currently being investigated by our Collision Investigation Squad.
Also late this evening police responded to a protest in Middle Village, within the confines of the 104 Precinct. Multiple department resources were dispatched to the vicinity of 77 Place and 58 Road where there was a large crowd causing property damage to vehicles. This incident resulted in 5 arrests and the crowd dispersing. If anyone has property damage to their residence of vehicle please call 911 to file a police report.
