Two incidents occurred in Elmhurst this week that you should be made aware of.
As a resident was walking home on Manila Street at approximately 7:00-7:30 pm on Saturday, October 24th, he was approached by a female who told him she could show him a good time for $100. Needless to say, he declined the offer. I spoke with DI Manson, 110th Precinct, who said if anyone is approached by a prostitute they can call 911 and file a report for Harassment. If a pattern emerges, he said they will conduct an operation in the area and make arrests.
I received an email from a resident who wanted to alert us about her husband's car being broken into on Gorsline Street this past weekend. She states there was no damage to the vehicle but a number of items were taken - about $500 worth of construction tools were among the items. She said the vehicle was parked in front of their house. She did not say whether the vehicle was locked or unlocked, nor did she say whether or not a police report was filed. DI Manson said he'll look to see if a report was taken. I'm sure he'll mention it at our meeting on Monday.
Our Comet meeting will be held this Monday, November 2nd, 7:00 pm at St. Adalbert Parish Center, lower level, 52-40 84th Street, Elmhurst.
If you see something, say something. Please remember to always lock your vehicle and don't leave anything in it!!!
