We want to thank Assemblyman Barnwell's office for reaching out to the resident engineer handling AEDA003 and asking him to give us the boundaries of this accelerated water/sewer project that is going on in the vicinity of 69th Street and other area streets. The attached map is hand-drawn but you can get an idea of who will be affected.
I received a call from a resident on 52nd Drive who stated that homeowners on her block received a notice telling them to shut their water off by 8:00 am this morning before the work commenced. She said she found it strange that no "No Parking" signs were posted nor was there any evidence of pipes or work vehicles parked in the immediate vicinity for today's job. However, she and her neighbors did turn off their water, waited and waited and no work was done nor was any notice distributed to tell folks the project was delayed.
The resident will reach out to Assemblyman Barnwell and Councilman Holden tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I reached out to the Department of Design and Construction (DDC) to find out why the work was delayed.
If anyone gets a notice telling them to turn off their water and don't see "No Parking" signs on the block, etc. contact your elected officials immediately. They can follow up to see if the work will be done as scheduled.
