It's a new year and we're seeing much-needed sewer work being done in Elmhurst on Kneeland Avenue thanks to Council Member Daniel Dromm.
Block Captain Howard Moskowitz spoke with the Project Manager today and.was told that today they will be washing the street (we assume to remove any salt, etc.). When the actual work begins "no parking": signs will be posted two days in advance. Schools were notified. The Project Manager said the company hopes to replace 100' of pipe each day.
We brought the problem of sinkholes, smoking and exploding manholes and brown water to the attention of Councilman Dromm several years ago. Since that time money had to be allocated and a study needed to be done.
If residents have any concerns, be advised this is not going to be a project like Calamus Avenue. However, we do suggest residents take photos of their property during any kind of project like this just in case they experience damage.
Once again, we thank the Councilman for following up on our concerns!!
