On Sunday, February 2, 2020 at approximately 9:00 am, Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to a call for an unconscious six-week old newborn child in the Ridgewood area of the Precinct. Upon arrival FDNY was performing CPR on the infant. The infant was taken to Wyckoff Hospital but unfortunately could not be saved. The 104th Precinct is investigating the incident, but no criminality is suspected at this time.
MASPETH
On Sunday, February 2, 2020 at approximately 10:15 pm, Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to an assault with a knife call at 59-60 55th Road Maspeth, NY (Maspeth Pizza House Sports Bar and Lounge). Upon arrival to the scene Officers observed a male aided with lacerations to the hand and face. The aided injuries were not considered life threatening. In addition the aided refused to cooperate with the responding Officers. The perpetrator fled the location upon arrival of the Police. A canvass of the area yielded negative results. The incident will be further investigated by the 104th Precinct Detective Squad.
GLENDALE
On Monday, February 3, 2020 at approximately 1:40 am, Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to a Burglary call at 71-xx 69 Street Glendale, NY 11385. After further investigation the responding Officers realized this was not a Burglary, but actually a person in need of medical assistance. The Officers requested the response of NYPD Specialized Units which included the Emergency Services Unit. Officers were eventually able to gain entry without incident into the apartment and the aided male was transported to the hospital for observation.
