On Wednesday, January 12th, 7:30 pm at Christ the King Regional HS, 68-02 Metropolitan Avenue, Community Board 5/NYC Dept. of Transportation will hold a public hearing concerning the conversion of Grand Avenue between 69th Street and the Brooklyn/Queens border and Flushing Avenue between Grand Avenue and the Queens/Brooklyn border from through truck routes to local truck routes. NYC DOT will also be holding a public hearing about this issue on Tuesday, January 4th at 1 pm at their lower Manhattan office located at 55 Water Street, BID Room A.
Comments may be submitted to DOT prior to the January 4th hearing by writing to Queens Borough Commissioner Maura McCarthy by regular mail to 120-55 Queens Boulevard, Room 285, Kew Gardens, NY 11424 or by e-mail to: [email protected]
FYI - COMET had contacted our elected officials asking them to request that Community Board 5 hold this public hearing in Maspeth, i.e. Martin Luther HS, Kowalinski Post or St. Stan's since this issue affects Maspeth residents and we wanted to make it easy for folks to attend. Obviously Community Board 5 found it more convenient to hold it in Middle Village.
