Our NCO Officers PO Shoy and PO Nisbett were working the midnight tour this week. During the early morning hours on Wednesday, 11/11, they spotted two males in the vicinity of 58th Road/58th Place stealing rims and tires off a vehicle.
When the perpetrators realized they were spotted they took off and Officers Shoy and Nisbett followed. The males jumped out of the vehicle near Cypress Hills Street and 80th Avenue and took off running. One male was able to escape into the cemetery but PO Nisbett was able to apprehend the second male. She suffered minor injuries during the scuffle and should be able to return to work in a few days.
The vehicle the perpetrators used was stolen from the 94th Precinct in Brooklyn. These men are most likely professionals and we hope they get some well-deserved jail time.
We want to take this time to commend our officers for doing an outstanding job and look forward to seeing PO Nisbett back to work soon.
