PO Thompson Wen, our Crime Prevention at 110th Precinct, advised us that we had two burglaries in Cometland during the week of 9/17 to 9/23. Both of these locations are near the Maspeth/Middle Village border. We'll hear crime stats for the entire month from our three precincts at our meeting this Monday. Can't believe no one heard them prying open the security bars!! Just because we haven't heard what's been going on during the month and alerting you, doesn't mean nothing is happening. Keep looking out your windows!! Please pass this along to friends/neighbors in the area.
- 85 Street/57 Avenue, apartment front door entry, unknown perpetrators.
- 54 Avenue/83 Street, side window entry with the "security bars" pryed open.
Starting this Monday, October 1st though April 1st, you can begin placing your trash out for collection at 4:00 pm.
"Residential units may place receptacles out for collection on the sidewalk, right by the curb, no earlier than 5:00 pm the day before their scheduled collection, and no earlier than 4:00 pm from October 1st to April 1st. Residential units must remove receptacles from their collection place by 9:00 pm on their collection day. If collection occurs after 4:00 pm, receptacles must be removed by 9:00 am the next day." 16-120(c). Fine: $100- $300
