They're back! Captain Manson, 104th Precinct, just called to say we had a rim/tire job last night between the hours of 8:00 pm and 6:00 am. He didn't have the year, but the vehicle is a Nison Sentra. It was parked in front of 70-30 53rd Avenue, not far from the Woodside/Elmhurst border. Amazing how they get away with this!
Captain Manson also said there was a larceny from an auto at S&S, 75-24 Grand Avenue, again on precinct border. Apparently vehicle was left in parking lot for 24 hours. Someone stole a GPS, camera and radar detector. No sign of forced entry, so person must have left doors unlocked.
As you know, these rim/tire creeps are organized and move around to avoid detection. On the other hand, any local lowlife will break into a car for a quick buck. Just because it's been quiet for a while, don't think something won't happen. Please keep alert to any suspicious person or noise and call 911, if necessary. If you see a neighbor leaving a GPS or GPS holder, etc. in the car, please tell them it's not a good idea. Please pass this on.
