Captain Manson, 104th Precinct, reached out to let us know that we had two more burglaries in our area. One of them could have turned out worse because victim was home!!
- 52 #s on 74th Street - victims were gone from 13th to 25th and returned to find front door damaged, jewelry and tax information stolen. Crime wasn't reported until yesterday.
- 67th/52nd Avenue - 6:30 pm yesterday, 2/28. 18-year old male home watching TV, someone rang doorbell. When he looked out he saw a male black about 6' tall with black hoodie, black pants, looking down so his face couldn't be seen. He heard a noise from the rear of his home, he ran into his parents' bedroom and locked door. He heard two distinct sets of footsteps and at one point heard someone pulling the doorknob of his parents' bedroom. Nothing was stolen. Perhaps they got scared off when they realized someone was home. Luckily this didn't turn into a home invasion!! What's really disconcerting is that this occurred during a time that people are likely at home.
At this point not sure if we will have our monthly meeting on Monday. I'll hold off to make the decision. If more than two inches of snow, meeting will be canceled.
