We had another confirmed burglary this afternoon in Elmhurst - 80# on 54th Avenue. This is on the Maspeth/Middle Village border, a short distance from Winfield. Someone spotted the perpetrator driving off in a van and was able to get the license plate number. DI Leyson, Commanding Officer of the 110th Precinct, said they are actively investigating the vehicle and registered owner and are pursuing the case. If anyone has any information about this or the other incidents on 80th Street, please contact the 110th Precinct Squad.
The weather has been hot and humid and folks have been running their air conditioners, keeping their blinds closed and not going out unless it's necessary. This is a perfect environment for a burglar!! These burglaries occurred at the rear of homes so neighbors need to look out. Remember, burglars move around to avoid detection. Don't feel that just because you don't live in the immediate area you can't be a victim!
