Good news. Thanks to a sharp-eyed resident, two burglars were caught in the act breaking into a house at 62-xx 65 Street in Maspeth this past Wednesday, January 30th. Resident spotted two males at front door, then saw them walking to rear of house. Resident called 911. The perpetrators live in confines of 110th Precinct, Corona/Elmhurst area, and have been arrested before.
We don't know if these individuals are responsible for the burglaries in the vicinity of Calamus Avenue, which is quite a distance from where they were arrested, so you need to be alert at all times regardless of what community you live in.
If something doesn't look right, it probably isn't. Call 911 and let your precinct investigate. You won't get in trouble if you're mistaken. If you're right, we'll get some crooks off the street. If they commit a crime in our area and get away with it, they'll definitely come back again.
Don't forget our COMET meeting will be held this Monday, February 4th, 7:00 pm, 85-20 57th Avenue. Directions on our website. We'll have opportunity to hear everything that's been going on in our area.
Please pass on to others in the community.
