We heard that about 1:30 pm this afternoon, Tuesday, 1/17, someone observed people trying to break into a vehicle in Stop & Shop's parking lot and called 911. We reached out to our NCO, PO Etienne, and here's what he found out:
"A call was made in regards to two people trying to break into a gray Nissan. Verified caller provided a description. Two officers made the stop of the two individuals when one decided to take off on the moped. He was apprehended by police and after further investigation the moped was reported stolen from the 113th Precinct. The individual was placed under arrest and multiple charges were placed against him!"
We commend the person who saw something and said something. As a result of this 911 call an arrest was made. Great job by the resident and our 104th Precinct officers!! We don't know if the second individual was apprehended, but perhaps we'll get an update at our COMET meeting scheduled for Monday, February 6th.
