Community Board 5 - Roadway Milling and Resurfacing

PLANS FOR ROADWAY MILLING AND RESURFACING

According to Gary Giordano, District Manager of Community Board 5, Queens, the N.Y. City Dept. of Transportation intends to begin nighttime milling and resurfacing of the following roadways as soon as Wednesday evening August 27, 2025:

• Grand Avenue, from Queens Midtown Expressway (Borden Avenue) to 79 Street
•  73 Place, from Grand Avenue to the Dead End South of Grand Avenue
• 80 Street from Metropolitan Avenue to 71 Avenue, adjacent to the Bridge Over the LIRR South of Cooper Avenue
• 71 Avenue, from 80 Street to 79 Street

Nighttime milling and resurfacing roads is usually performed from approximately 9pm to 5am.
