We had another chain stolen on Sunday, 8/24, about 4:30 pm in the vicinity of 60th Street between 56th Drive and Maspeth Avenue.. Two men got out of a car and started yelling to the victim,, "Hey, Uncle". They hugged him and then released him. After they released him the victim realized that the chain had been stolen from around his neck and replaced by a fake gold chain. Unfortunately, this incident wasn't reported to the 104th Precinct.
An attempted incident occurred on Thursday, 8/21, on Calamus Avenue in the vicinity of 72nd Street on the 108th Precinct side of the street. It involved a woman carrying a baby. trying to sell fake gold.. The targeted victim knew it was a scam and waved the woman away. The woman hopped into a minivan and took off with some guys. It was the second time the victim was targeted.

- It's important to make a police report if you have been the victim of a crime. If no one reports crime the police will think nothing is going on here and will devote their attention elsewhere.
- The police will ask neighbors for videos and perhaps be able to get a description of the perpetrator(s) and the make, model and plate number of the vehicle involved.
- These jewelry crimes may be old news to us but many of your neighbors are unaware of it. Please pass the word!!
