I just wanted to keep you informed about a report we took involving check fraud.
The victim mailed out a check in a blue postal box located at 54 Ave and 80 Street to pay bills. A few days later the victim's bank notified him that a perpetrator had changed the name on the check and attempted to cash it but was unsuccessful.
Check fraud is very common, and it generally affects the seniors in the community. I have attached a flyer that has some safety measures to help prevent check washing/fraud. I will speak about this crime and inform the community in our upcoming meetings/initiatives. Take care,
