On Sunday 9/27/15 at 3:58 AM, there was a vehicle collision at the intersection of Flushing Avenue and 54 Street in the confines of the 104 Precinct. A single-occupant sedan driven by a 39 year old male from Brooklyn was proceeding westbound on the underpass of W/B Flushing Avenue from 60th Street. A witness states he observed the sedan emerge from the underpass at an extremely high rate of speed, where it struck a streetlight in the median, then struck a parked unoccupied vehicle, and then struck a traffic pole at the north east corner of 54th Street and Flushing Avenue. The driver is seriously injured and likely to die at Elmhurst General Hospital at this time. The collision is still under investigation, and it is believed that intoxicated driving and excessive speed were factors in the collision.
Captain Gregory Mackie 104 Precinct Executive Officer On Saturday 9/12 at approximately 8:30 PM, 3 people were crossing the LIE at Hamilton Place in the marked crosswalk with the Walk Signal, and were struck by a gray Infinity Q50 with NY plates, which fled the location. The 3 males were in their early thirties (one resides in Cometland on 66 Street, one resides in Flushing and the other in Jamaica) and sustained cuts, bruises, pain and swelling to the arms, legs and torso.
104 Precinct units responded and ascertained the plate was registered to an address in Middle Village (61-00 block of 69th Lane). They knocked on the door and the perpetrator (Anthony Milcetic, MW/24) admitted to leaving the scene, knowing there were injuries. He was subsequently arrested. -Capt Mac |
