Good afternoon, hope all is well. We have recently seen two laundromat burglaries in the confines of the 110 precinct at 85-12 Grand Avenue (Susan Laundromat) and 51-38 Goldsmith Street (Bally Laundromat). In both instances the perps entered the location and broke into the atm machines and stole in excess of $1000 at each location.
I have conducted a security survey at 85-12 Grand Avenue and offered the security at 51-38 Goldsmith but they refused the survey. I have increased directed patrols at these locations, as has the NCO units in recent weeks since the incidents occurred on 6/23-6/24.
At this point the NYPD's Grand Larceny Unit is taking over the investigation. I have attached this email from the Crime Prevention Division in regard to a citywide laundromat Burglary Pattern. Take care

Our investigators believe this is the same burglary crew that has targeted 40 laundromats across Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx in the last four months. In each case, three to four masked men break into the commercial establishments during the overnight and early morning hours, removing coin machines, merchandise, property and cash from registers. Each time, the men sped away in various vehicles with stolen license plates. Since March, the crew has targeted 29 laundromats in Queens in the 102nd, 104th, 105th, 106th, 107th, 108th, 109th, 111th, 112th and 115th Precincts. They have struck three times in Brooklyn’s 75th Precinct and nine times in the Bronx in the confines of the 40th, 43rd, 48th, 49th and 50th Precincts. With this information be sure to outreach all laundromats and offer crime prevention security surveys!
