Elmhurst - Burglary

11/19/2024

This male (see attached) is wanted for a burglary of a garage in the rear of 86-xx 54th Avenue which occurred on November 12, 2024 at approximately 2:27 pm. The male entered an unlocked garage and removed the complainant's Black Trek bicycle. The perpetrator left behind a silver Rallye bicycle on the complainant's property.

Auto Theft Prevention for Honda CRV Owners

We're sure you all know by now that starting today trash can be placed at the curb in a bin with a secure lid at 6:00 pm.

Our VP Toni Guillen reached out to DSNY to ask if recyclables in bags can also be placed at the curb at 6:00 pm. The answer was "NO". Recyclables in bags cannot go out until 8:00 pm.

We wanted to clear this up for those of you who are uncertain.

Our Vice President Mike Fordunski decided to go for a leisurely walk in Forest Park today. As he was walking, he smelled smoke and decided to investigate. He soon came upon three youths intentionally setting a fire. He immediately dialed 911 and was transferred to the Fire Department. The Fire Department, Parks Department and some adults were able to put out the fire before it spread. The three youths covered their faces and fled.

We want to thank Mike for his quick action! Who knows what would have happened if he wasn't there.

If you live near a park or even along the railroad please investigate if you smell smoke.
