104th, 108th, 110th Precincts will update us on the crime stats, any unusual incidents, enforcement relating to car washes operating without a permit, monitoring 85th Street footbridge in Elmhurst, RVs in Maspeth
Senator Gianaris: Any update regarding Exits 18 & 10 on the LIE? Update on the funding for the gardening project on 85th Street, if any.
Assemblyman Raga: Any news about addressing flooding on the BQE at Queens Blvd? Status on repairing the lights on Veterans Plaza on 69th Street/Grand Avenue.
Folks continue to complain about CXS leaving their trains for extended periods of time on the overpass at 74th Street/Calamus Avenue. They claim the smell and rat problem emanating from their property is seriously affecting their quality of life.
City issues: Status of alternate side parking effective 2026 for trash removal. People dumping on Calamus/74th.

First Day of School in Elmhurst

Someone was nice enough to send us a photo of the first day of school in Elmhurst's Charter School.

We're sure many of you already know permits were filed to build another school at 78-07 51st Avenue. It will be a five-story building not far from IS5.

There's certainly a lot going on in the community!

Alicia from Councilman Holden's office just received a call from DSNY and they are not able to make meeting tonight something came up they need to attend. We will try to reschedule one.

Elmhurst's Grand Slope Staircase Reconstruction

9/1/2024

We are pleased to hear that the staircase on Grand Slope, which is located on Grand Avenue/Haspel Street, will be reconstructed beginning this week. The funding for the project was allocated by former City Council Member Daniel Dromm. The project will begin this week.
